Experienced Agricultural Product Sales Leader Matthew Nels Thompson
A market manager for Simplot in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Matthew Nels Thompson previously spent nearly 16 years with Nutrien, first as an agronomist and sales representative and later as a Nutrien location agronomy manager. As a sales and marketing leader for the company, he was tasked with not only training and leading the sales team but also developing and managing the annual operating budget, identifying employees for advancement, and generating new business opportunities. Matthew Nels Thompson joined Simplot as a market manager in 2019. He is responsible for leading the sales and marketing team, as well as facilitating growth at the company.
Mr. Thompson holds a bachelor of science in plant industry management from the University of Minnesota in Crookston. In addition to his degree, he maintains a hazardous material response cleanup training certification and a pesticide application and dealer license for the state of North Dakota. He has gained additional leadership experience as a member of the Drayton Park board and the Drayton Economical Development board.
